Tate Modern

Right! I think I know how to work this now, just as the project nears its end....

Never mind, better late than never. I've really enjoyed the last couple of events for ABC. The workshop on Thursday was great fun and I'm so impressed with the way everyone pitches in straight away now without any hestation.

By the end of the session I thought any one of your pieces would look good in Tate Mod and I think it served as a good grounding for what we went on to experience in the gallery.

I loved the day at the gallery. It wasn't relaxing but it wasn't meant to be. It was just great to see all parent and children partnerships so engaged and with some many considered opinions about what we were experiencing. I totally agree with Nick about how eloquent everyone was, parents and children.

I also liked the gallery guide thing invented by Effie but have had a few thoughts about ways to improve it (Effie and Selina have asked all of us to give suggestions about how to make it better so if you have any thoughts, post them up).

I'm now really looking forward to the workshop at Lauriston on Tuesday with Jane Monihan and then the visit to Sir John Soane's Museum on 23rd. It's definitely going to be the oddest one of our visits but should be great fun too.

"Going to the dance was a fantastic experience. My grandmother who was very formal and austere used to take me to the ballet and i absolutely hated it"

"I think what i have learnt the most about this project is.......wait for it....is SELF BELIEF. If an artist or anyone, writes, sings, dances or sculpts etc and believes they have done a good job, well thats all that matters....i have doubted myself in the past, lacked believing in myself and what i can achieve....”

"We have decided to take Ryan and Naombh somewhere at least once a month and have figured that with our children its best sometimes just to get on a bus or tube and just see what's going on ,sort of exposing them to the arts accidentally there is so much to see and do"
