Twelth night The Cottesloe Theatre

Why why why have I never been to watch a Shakespeare play ????
Well I'm sure  this is the start of something new so thank you ABC.
The afternoon was so enjoyable chatting with the other parents and watching our children from Hackney enjoy such a wonderful play. When I asked Olivia what she enjoyed, her reply was the music, singing and the very creative masks. I then asked her did she understand the story, her reply was of course I did mum. So that leaves me to change !!!!! Do I think the language should be changed and updated ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I have just started and would feel sad if something so unique may be lost in our future.
Isn't it a wonderful thing to learn new things about our old English language even at my ripe old age !!! Seeing the  play has put many questions that I just felt the need to know,  such as why the  title The Twelth night and why do I only go to the Hackney Empire ( which is fab by the way ). Must get out more especially now me and my daughter have a new found interest.
                                                    Maggie and Olivia thank you

ABC Photos

Just been looking through all the albums. Great to see some really powerful images.......I was inspired to upload some that I've taken recently on my phone. This is one I took in the Kings Cross area. I love the old 'Dairy Outfit' sign. Let me know if anyone else has got any pics of old signs on buildings around town....... Also, it would be good to see some more people blogging about your photos....choose one to write about....... :-)

photos weve takan and were planing to take

Mim has taken loads of photos of her friends at play time and in the class room Aoife is interested in taking pictures of the girls in the canoe club messing around with food - spitting it out in the bins when they don't like it for example.  I imagine close up shots of their disgusted faces!! I'd also like to take pictures of the girls looking in mirrors - I can't get over how long they spend looking in mirrors- or how catching it is!!!

And we would both like to take photos of the lake district because we are going there in the half tearm.

We had a great trip!!!  The weather was pretty cold and VERY wet but we'd loads of fun and there was lots of snow and ice left on the mountains that high up.  It was Valentines so we had lots of fun with the camera!

Columbia Rd Flower market

Olivia and I chose this particular market as we feel no matter what the accassion happy or sad flowers are a real feel good to many people. The market was ablaze with people, colour and aromas even dispite the rain !!!!

Today has been my favourite day to use the camera as I took wonderful photo's and bought beautiful fresh flowers which put a smile on my friends face ( priceless ).

Children, the hope of tomorrow

The world is changing so fast, considering the jet age we live in today. There are giants steps been taken compared to what it used to be, and the effect will tell on the future of our children. Today, modernisation has influenced our children's life a great deal, and they seem to know too much for their age. The activities that have taken the mind of our children off the essential things that they are suppose to know at this time of their life is going to tell in the future. Our children spend more time on things like MP3 player, ipod, computer games, internet, etc, rather than doing things that will prepare them for a better life in the future. Also, in the past, the family laws of our nation was helpful because children were not exposed to today's technologies, but now that things have changed as a result of advance in technology, there is need for a tighter family law to curb our children of their excesses. If nothing is done to the rate of how modernisation is telling on our children, I can imagine what we expect in years to come. As much as I love what modernisation is doing to the world, at the same time, I think there should be moderation on the things that could ruin the future of our children.

National portrait gallery

The morning started great as Olivia and I met up with Zehra and Mel who were already on the  388 bus, we had travelled in good time so we put our cameras to use and had lots of fun taking pictures . Then Mel persuaded me ( he he) to climb up to the huge lion at Trafalga SQ and natually I said yes if she would too !!!! SO WE DID and guess what ????
Your right we couldn't get down. Was just fantastic hearing Zehra and OLivia laughing at their responsible parents.

It was great meeting up with everyone and looking at the portraits although I must say from starting my day laughing and fooling around the pictures left me feeling really sad inside.

Before I go I also would like to thank Madeline, Nic and peter the only man that can really get you around a whole museum in YES 60 seconds. Thank you all had a really interesting day. Maggie.

What a wonderful lot of bloggers!

Wow! Breda and Jordan there's no stopping you two is there? Can't wait to see the photo project on dinners you cook and eat. In fact it was great reading all the entries tonight to see what everyone is aiming to do - faces in mirrors, Muirrean - sounds great. And as for Rhea's shopping trip down Oxford Street.... I can't think of anything worse but I'm sure you and your mum and cousin will have a ball. And Marcia and Dwaun, the pics of Ridley Road should be good too.

Thanks, everyone for turning up tonight, and thanks Eelyn, Nic and Madeleine for the usual brilliant input.

I haven't blogged since the National Portrait Gallery visit but it was excellent and lovely to read your comments, Meyrem and Zehra - you're very brave going anywhere near Maggie in Trafalgar Square but the photos look great and could be used by the police!

Remember, our next event is the drama workshop at Jubilee on the first Monday back after half term. If we meet at the end of school and head off together we'll not get lost I hope.

Have a wonderful half term and keep snapping and blogging!

Im going to take photographs of the Bethnal Green market on saturday. My favourite stall is the cd stall and my second is the scarfs and gloves and hat stall.

Cuban Dancing at Sadlers Wells.

Wow what an evening !!! From sillohetted dancing cubian musicians to the soft feet of the ballet and finishing the night off with some body popping all the way to the no 38 bus stop.
Really enjoyed meeting all the adults and their children.
