A group blog for families to share experiences of culture in London.

I brought in a photo of my granny and grandad.  They were at a dance at university.  They were very young, probably only 19 or 20.  They are in their 60s now. And it is a black and white photograph in a wooden frame.  Granny is wearing a satin dress. My grandad has glasses on and no beard.  he has a beard now and grey hair. My mum loves this picture.

Photography Workshop 2: Jubilee School
written by aoife and muireann, February 23, 2010
We were really excited about today's workshop at Jubilee School - but - in the end did not make it smilies/angry.gif We all got trapped on Mare Street in road works traffic and never got near the school, let alone the workshop. What a big disapointment. I hope the others from Jubiless had fun?

Do you have a way of scanning the photo and uploading it to your blog post? It would be lovely to see it smilies/smiley.gif

"Going to the dance was a fantastic experience. My grandmother who was very formal and austere used to take me to the ballet and i absolutely hated it"

"I think what i have learnt the most about this project is.......wait for it....is SELF BELIEF. If an artist or anyone, writes, sings, dances or sculpts etc and believes they have done a good job, well thats all that matters....i have doubted myself in the past, lacked believing in myself and what i can achieve....”

"We have decided to take Ryan and Naombh somewhere at least once a month and have figured that with our children its best sometimes just to get on a bus or tube and just see what's going on ,sort of exposing them to the arts accidentally there is so much to see and do"
