Arts Beyond the Classroom

A group blog for families to share experiences of culture in London.

from Dunni and Lola | Feb 19, 2010 Dunni and Lola

I love my experience in the group so far with the trips the workshops and the plays.I enjoy being in the group and what we discuss. When i joined i was shy but not to Eelyn because i already met her!I looked fine but inside i was shy because i haven't really done something like this before.I hope i continue to enjoy my experience in the group and i have met new friends like Alison. My only concern is that we do so many activities in a month and i think we should reduce it to about 2 activities so that we can have time for other private activities. Also bearly anyone is on the blog and bearly writes blog posts and i think we should incourage people to keep on blogging.I find blogging quite fun but a bit to hard to put videos on and when we learn a lot we forget some things. It was good to see teachers but they only write 1 blog posts and they bearly do any work which is unusual because teachers work harder than pupils.I also think that we should all come together to say if wev'e enjoyed the experience so far and what we have liked best in the activities and what we didn't really like so far. From Dunni.

Thanks for your thoughts Dunni........I think you're right. Sometimes you need a bit more time to reflect on things. I'll talk to Mr Cannon and Mr Sanders from Lauriston to see if we can schedule some time to do this ....... and also to do some video uploading!!!!! It's great to have you in the group and your contributions to the blog are fantastic. Keep up the good work smilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gif

"I think what i have learnt the most about this project is.......wait for it....is SELF BELIEF. If an artist or anyone, writes, sings, dances or sculpts etc and believes they have done a good job, well thats all that matters....i have doubted myself in the past, lacked believing in myself and what i can achieve....”

"We have decided to take Ryan and Naombh somewhere at least once a month and have figured that with our children its best sometimes just to get on a bus or tube and just see what's going on ,sort of exposing them to the arts accidentally there is so much to see and do"
